USAID's Essential Services for Health in Ethiopia (ESHE) is funded by the American people to improve child survival and reform the health sector in partnership with the Ethiopian Government. ESHE is managed by John Snow, Inc. (JSI) and its sub-contractors, Abt Associates Inc., Academy for Educational Development (AED), and Initiatives Inc.

ESHE is an integrated program of child health interventions and health sector reform. ESHE assists in strengthening federal-level policies and improving utilization of high-impact child survival interventions. Its 64 woredas, serve 15 million people in three focus regions: Amhara, Oromia, and SNNPR.
